Christmas Greeting -by Cornish Poet Clive Blake by CliveBlake Christmas Greeting -by Cornish Poet Clive Blake by CliveBlake
Christmas Greeting (Chritmas Poem by Cornish Poet Clive Blake) Phoetry – Visual Poetry – Concrete Poetry - Christmas Poetry - Poetry

Oh robin you so symbolize,
The spirit of Christmas cheer,
The chirpy way you bob about
At this festive time of year.

A Merry Christmas we exchange,
Our eyes through holly meeting,
Worth more to me than worldly-goods,
That warm unspoken greeting.

"Christmas Greeting” (Christmas Poem by Cornish Poet Clive Blake) ) Phoetry – Visual Poetry – Concrete Poetry - Christmas Poetry - Poetry,
It's Christmas again! It is always Christmas, or we are recovering from Christmas, or we are preparing for Christmas! Anyway, I would like to use this Christmas deviation as my chance to wish all my Watchers, Friends and fellow Deviant Arters a very Merry Christmas and a great next new year ...
:)

-------------------------------------------
What bird do you think about at Christmas?
I'm talking the feathered Christmas variety here ..! Yes, besides the gastronomic side of Christmas things re turkeys, geede and ducks etc,. I always think of the Robin. A Robin looks into your eyes in the same knowing way that a dog does. There seems to be a deep connection there somewhere. Dogs might be Mans best friend, but Robins are our best feathered friends. Or at least they are at Christmas!

It is very hard to avoid any Christmas Poem ending up looking like a verse from a Christmas card. Do you think this poem has avoided this Christmas trap?

Clive, Thank you for the Christmas greeting and cheer! Here in New England the robin is a sign of spring "our ground is too frozen for them to pull worms, so they all head south for the winter" so our Christmas bird is the Cardinal with this bright flash of red flitting from twig to tree we know that Christmas is near. From my family to you and yours we wish a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!!B^) Mik
